As in the old days, when the northern teams did not make the big hirings, the capital of the country returns to have prominence in Mexican soccer.
América and Pumas lead the Clausura 2018, along with Monterrey, current runner-up in the Liga Bancomer. For a long time, two capitalists did not fight the battle as it happens now. At the end of the fifth day, the Eagles were placed on the top after beating Lobos BUAP (5-1), while Pumas remained top by their triumph over Tigres (2-0), although the aforementioned have a better difference of goals.

With 11 points, Rayados, América and Pumas still have the undefeated, as well as another northern one, Xolos de Tijuana, although the frontiers are ranked fifth for their highest number of draws. The tournament is still young and the protagonism is falling on historically important institutions; however, as regards the school there is disparity.
The Coapa team tried to reinforce itself better than in the last tournament, although it only made a noise by bringing Jérémy Ménez from France. Pumas hired three players and only the well-known Matias Alustiza caused divided comments, because of his talent, but also because of the soccer downturns he has had in recent tournaments.
Monterrey was made of two players; for the performance he had in Pachuca, only the Uruguayan Jonathan Urretaviscaya meets the profile to swell one of the best rosters of the Aztec football, but when the ball rolls on the court the names and the suppositions disappear. Monterrey, America and Pumas are the protagonists of the moment; all add three wins and two draws.

The academics showed offensive and defensive solidity from the first date and have stayed that way, despite the odds against when they had to face Pachuca, América and Tigres. The Eagles take a step up, by linking two wins recently, Saturday being the loosest.
Monterrey has also come from less to more. Hila two valuable victories, one against a rival that sweeps crowds like Chivas and the Saturday by thrashing over Leon (5-1). The regular tournament has a long way to go and things can change; Meanwhile, the fans are excited to see their soul team shine.
