CITY OF MEXICO – Carlos Peña crossed paths with a great ‘godfather’ for his career just as it had been in decline for years.
For some strange reason or a good football memory – only he knows it -, Pedro Caixinha put his eyes on the nickname ‘Gullit’ to take him to European football, after the footballer had failed in his passage through Chivas, and spent at night in a second stage with the team of his loves, the Lion.

Called to be one of the references of the Mexican National Team in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, a few months after the Peña match had an alarming decline that did not find a brake and this caused not only that he lost ownership in El Tri, but also that then the version that came to show with the Esmeralda of Gustavo Matosas was not seen anymore.
He went to Chivas with sadness to the skin and tears to leave Leon, which was a bad omen that over the months only confirmed the terrible investment made by the Sacred Flock, where he never had the ability to assume the the leading role he was called to have.
The midfielder, who lived his best moments playing as a hook, is about to turn 28 in March; however, it has stalled four.
He no longer has the power he showed with which he was able to leave rivals on the road and put a goal pass; much less is the driver with specific weight of the advances of his team (neither in Chivas, second stage in Leon or in Rangers), not to mention the shot of mid-distance or as a finalizer of plays.
